T&T Construction Management Group, Inc., a woman-owned premier concrete specialty contractor, is pleased to announce the commencement of the Spurlino Family YMCA expansion at Big Bend Road, located in the Greater Tampa community of Gibsonton. The Spurlino Family Y, designed by FleischmanGarciaMaslowski and constructed in 2019, currently includes a cycling studio, group exercise facilities, as well as a 30,000-square-foot aquatic recreation center containing an eight-lane pool.

The expansion by T&T Construction Management Group, Inc., undertaken on behalf of the client Creative Contractors, will increase the YMCA’s total fitness use area by 18,000 square feet. The firm’s scope of work includes seamlessly joining the existing building with the new addition. Because of the confined space on site, tilt-up panels are strategically built around the perimeter of the building; logistics and pre-planning are paramount to the execution.

The Spurlino Family Y has earned LEED Gold Certification and was recognized by the Hillsborough County Planning Commission in 2019 for its design.
